Terms of Service
Effective July 14, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Hoko App services, including the Hoko AI Shopping Visibility Shopify application (the "Service"). By installing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
Who we are
Hoko App ("Hoko," "we," "us") operates Shopify applications that help merchants understand and improve how AI systems recommend products. Contact: support@hokoapp.com.
The Service
Hoko provides AI shopping visibility scans, scoring, competitor insights, recommendations, and related features for Shopify merchants. Features and limits depend on your subscription plan. We may update the Service over time to improve accuracy, performance, or coverage of AI assistants.
Eligibility and accounts
You must have authority to install apps on the Shopify store you connect. You are responsible for activity under that store's installation, including access by your staff or contractors.
Subscriptions and billing
Paid plans are billed through Shopify. Pricing, trial length, and plan limits are shown in the app and on our website. Upgrades, downgrades, and cancellations are handled through Shopify's billing system. Charges already processed for a billing period are generally non-refundable except where required by law or Shopify policy.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Misuse the Service, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with its operation
- Use the Service to violate laws, Shopify's terms, or third-party rights
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse AI providers or Hoko systems beyond normal use of the product
- Resell or redistribute the Service without our written permission
Your data and content
You retain ownership of your store and catalog data. You grant Hoko a limited license to process that data as needed to provide the Service, including sending product-related information to AI providers for visibility analysis. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we handle it.
AI-generated results
Visibility scores, competitor findings, and recommendations are informational. AI assistants change over time, and results may not reflect every possible shopping prompt or outcome. You remain responsible for decisions you make based on the Service.
Intellectual property
The Service, brand, software, and related materials are owned by Hoko or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership of any Hoko intellectual property to you.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, specific visibility outcomes, or that AI assistants will recommend your products.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hoko is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the fees you paid to Hoko through Shopify for the Service in the three months before the claim.
Termination
You may stop using the Service by uninstalling the app or cancelling through Shopify. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or misuse the Service. After uninstall, we delete store data in line with Shopify's mandatory webhooks and our deletion processes, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date on this page.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where Hoko App operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
